about

This track was inspired by my stint in the NJDOC prison system after being jumped and beaten by the JCPD west district night shift police and then having internal affairs cover up the incident.

I thought I had friends to turn to in my time of trouble, but I learned quickly that for most people, fear is stronger than love.

lyrics

I Believe

A little more than a year outta prison, thank God i'm free/
One more year on parole, through it all I learned about me/

What things I like, My do's and dont's/
I set my standards, wrote my wills and wont's/

I lost some friends, when I shed my skin/
They were gone with the wind/
but it's cool, in the end, they were all pretend/

I'm happy now, I'm doing me, no one to compromise with/
Them leptons I cut ties with/

(Hook):

I finally found my spot/ and I am hot/ Lord this is all I got/ so I do believe,
If I'm mislead/ I'm as good as dead/ that still voice in my head says, I
believe/

Nigguz steal your focus, they like to see you hopeless/
They love you when your spending, gone when your at your brokest/

It never fails, they ALL go stale/
I know this well, they wrote me off when I went to jail/

At first it stung, I thought we was cool/
Either I'm bout to be a miracle or an old fool/

I choose the former/ Done with streets and corners/
I know I'm closest to success because I'm gettin warmer

(Hook):

If you ain't for my good, then don't say shit to me/
I'm bout living my dreams pout and making history/

DCMG for life, I made the game my wife/
Committed to her till I'm gone, my love is strong?

She keeps me sane, helps me bear my pain/
She loves to watch me grow, and she ain't scared of change/

She's held me many nights, when no one else was there/
A blessing from above, I keep her right here/
